Why this order?

The Kingsman series is small but tricky to sequence because its third film, The King's Man, is a prequel rather than a continuation. There are two sensible ways through it, and the right pick depends on whether you care more about the story as it was first told or the story as it actually unfolds in-world.

Release order is the default and the way most fans experienced it. You start with Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014), the Matthew Vaughn film that introduced Eggsy, Harry Hart, and the secret tailor-shop spy agency. The Golden Circle (2017) follows directly, expanding the world with the American "Statesman" agency. The King's Man (2021) arrives last but jumps back roughly a century to the agency's founding during World War I. Watching in release order preserves the tonal escalation Vaughn built and saves the origin reveal for after you already love the modern characters.

Chronological order flips the opening. Because The King's Man is set in the 1910s and depicts how the Kingsman organization came to exist, it comes first on a true timeline, followed by The Secret Service and The Golden Circle. This is the cleaner "watch the history first" path, though it front-loads a more serious, grounded war drama before the gadget-heavy modern entries.

If you enjoy this style of stylish, ultra-violent spy comedy, the obvious neighbors are Vaughn's earlier Kick-Ass and the James Bond films the series affectionately parodies. For first-timers, release order is the recommended route; the prequel rewards you more once you know what it's building toward. A fourth film continuing Eggsy's story has long been discussed.
