  1. Fire Country Season 1 2022

    22 episodes, October 7, 2022 to May 19, 2023. Convict Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot, who co-created the show) joins a Cal Fire inmate crew at Three Rock and is posted to Edgewater, the northern California town he grew up in, working alongside the parents he walked out on. This is the entry point for both shows: Sheriff Country's family drama only lands if the Leones are already established, and that happens here.

  2. Fire Country Season 2 2024

    10 episodes, February 16 to May 17, 2024. The short one, and the reason the run looks like it has a hole in it: the 2023 writers and actors strikes pushed the season out of fall 2023 altogether, so there is a nine-month gap after season 1 and the order drops from 22 episodes to 10. Nothing inside it is filler, and episode 6 is where the spin-off starts.

This is the Sheriff Country backdoor pilot, and it is a single episode rather than a multi-episode arc: an inmate escapes from Three Rock and the deputy called in is Morena Baccarin's Mickey Fox, Sharon Leone's former stepsister and therefore Bode's aunt. CBS ordered the spin-off straight to series on May 2, 2024 off the strength of it.     20 episodes, October 18, 2024 to April 25, 2025, with the final two airing back to back on the same night.     Aired April 4, 2025. Mickey Fox's only other Fire Country appearance before her own series: she and Bode investigate the attempted murder of her estranged father, Wes Fox (W. Earl Brown), an off-the-grid grower who becomes a Sheriff Country series regular. Together with Alert the Sheriff this is the entire Fire Country prerequisite for the spin-off, roughly ninety minutes of television.

  6. Fire Country Season 4 2025

    20 episodes, October 17, 2025 to May 22, 2026. The first season to run in parallel with the spin-off, week for week on the same Friday nights, so broadcast order from here on means alternating between the two shows rather than finishing one first. Episode 13, The Bravest (April 3, 2026), is the second half of the two-hour crossover and should be watched after Sheriff Country's The Finest, not before.

  7. Sheriff Country Season 1 2025

    20 episodes, October 17, 2025 to May 22, 2026, created by Joan Rater, Tony Phelan and Max Thieriot and shot in Toronto rather than Vancouver. Mickey is now Sheriff of Edgewater County, boxed in by her ex-con father Wes and her daughter Skye, with the murder of Skye's ex-boyfriend running underneath the season.     Premieres Friday, October 9, 2026 at 8/7c on CBS, one hour ahead of Fire Country's season 5 premiere; renewed on December 3, 2025. The episode order has not been announced. Listed before Fire Country season 5 here because that is the actual running order on the night: Sheriff Country has held the 8pm lead-in slot since its second week, so the spin-off airs first even though it is the newer show.

  9. Fire Country Season 5 2026

    Premieres Friday, October 9, 2026 at 9/8c on CBS, straight after Sheriff Country season 2. Renewed on January 22, 2026 with a 13-episode order rather than the usual 20, one of several order cuts reported across an unusually crowded CBS 2026-27 scripted slate; the practical effect is that Fire Country finishes its run earlier in the season than it normally would. CBS has not announced it as a final season.

Why this order?

Start at Fire Country season 1 and go in broadcast order. That is the honest answer, and it is worth saying plainly because nothing here is scrambled: no flashback season, no reordered timeline, no continuity fork. Fire Country ran three seasons before the spin-off got its own hour, and Sheriff Country starts from there rather than doubling back.

The part a search result will not tell you is where Sheriff Country actually begins. It was set up by a backdoor pilot, and despite the way that gets described, it is one episode, not an arc: Fire Country season 2, episode 6, Alert the Sheriff, which aired on April 12, 2024, was directed by series lead Max Thieriot and introduced Morena Baccarin as Edgewater County sheriff's deputy Mickey Fox. CBS ordered the spin-off straight to series three weeks later, on May 2, 2024. Mickey's only other appearance before her own show is season 3, episode 16, Dirty Money, on April 4, 2025, which introduces her estranged father Wes Fox (W. Earl Brown), a Sheriff Country regular from day one. So if you want Sheriff Country and nothing else, the homework is those two episodes, about ninety minutes, and then the spin-off's own pilot.

Two scheduling facts change how the later seasons line up. First, the shows run in parallel, not in sequence: Fire Country season 4 and Sheriff Country season 1 aired on the same Friday nights from October 17, 2025 and both finished on May 22, 2026, so a strict broadcast order interleaves them week by week rather than stacking one after the other. Their only genuine crossover is a two-hour event on April 3, 2026, told as one continuous story, and it has a required order: Sheriff Country's The Finest at 8, then Fire Country's The Bravest at 9. Second, the spin-off airs first. Sheriff Country took over the 8pm lead-in slot from its second week onward, so on any given Friday the newer show comes before the original.

What the season numbering hides is the strike gap. Season 1 ran 22 episodes and ended in May 2023; the 2023 writers and actors strikes then pushed the show out of fall 2023 entirely, so season 2 did not start until February 16, 2024 and ran only 10 episodes.
